Marital Status: Married, four children.

Occupation: Accountant at Ghraa Company, Riyadh, KSA.

Date of Arrest: Wednesday, 21 December 2016

Where was he arrested: From his work place in the city of Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

Place of detention: Unknown

Legal basis or reasons for the arrest: None was given. No fair trial, no right to legal assistance, or the right when charged with a criminal offence to be informed of the nature and cause of criminal charges brought against him has been respected.

Additional Information: Elwaleed Imam Hassan Taha is a Sudanese citizen who has been stopped and arrested by plainclothes officer from his work place in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. According to his family, several officers raided Elwaleed Imam Hassan Taha’s home, searched the house and took him to an unknown place. Elwaleed suffer from a high blood pressure.

Sudan Human Rights Network is deeply concerned about the wellbeing of Elwaleed Imam Hassan Taha, and respectfully appeal to Your Majesty to urge Saudi authorities to:

  • Immediately and unconditionally release Elwaleed Imam Hassan Taha, since no valid legal charges have been made
  • Requesting assurances that he is being humanly treated, that he has immediate and regular access to his family, lawyers, and any necessary medical attention.
